Directorate of Seed Research has a budding library and is being strengthened with books, journals, manuals, annual reports, news letter and technical bulletins from various national and international publishers, some of which are as follows:
Present library encompasses about six hundred and eleven books related to the various disciplines of agriculture crop husbandry.
Library also subscribes twenty national, nine international peer reviewed research journals for assisting scientists and students in enriching their wisdom.
Besides, library subscribes twenty seven magazines and conserves annual reports of Directorate of Seed Research, National Seed Project, Plant Variety Protection and DUS testing and ICAR seed project.
Library contains national guidelines for nucleus and breeder seed production of various field crops and national guidelines for conduct of test for Distinctness, Uniformity and Stability.
Above beyond, library also maintains the proceeding of different meetings in relation to various projects being co-ordinate and monitored by DSR.
Research highlights of National Seed Project 1979-2005 along with DSR’s perspective plan: vision-2030 also has been preserved for future references.
LABORATORIES Laboratory facilities for seed physiology, seed science & technology, seed molecular Biology, tissue culture & micro propagation, seed pathology and seed entomology have been developed. DSR laboratories are equipped with the following equipments: Seed Pelleting & Coating Machine, Seed Germinator, Ageing chambers, Desiccators, Seed Counter, BOD incubator, Refrigerated centrifuge, UV-Trans-illuminator, Liquid nitrogen containers, Compound microscopes, Laminar Air Flow, Tissue Culture facilities, Microarray, Automated single column AFLP fragment analyzer cum gene sequencer, Real time PCR, PCR machines, Gel documentation system, Vacuum blotters, UV cross linkers, vertical and horizontal gel electrophoresis system, UV spectrophotometer, ELISA Reader, Deep Freezer (-80 and -20ºC), Water Purification System, Water Distillation Units, Autoclave etc.
